Natalya Shield is a Melbourne based lighting technician, followspot operator, and automation operator. She is currently working as the Deputy Head of Lighting on the Australian tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) in 2022. She has experience in lighting tech, followspot operation, automation operation, lighting design, projection, and programming on ETC. She is originally from Brisbane, and has lived overseas for sixteen years in Malaysia, The Netherlands, and Brunei. She is employed as a lighting technician at Her Majesty’s Theatre, Melbourne Theatre Company, Arts Centre Melbourne, and the Malthouse Theatre and a production technician with Melbourne Theatre Company Electrics.
