Okage Sama De is a contemporary dance that explores the journey and troubles of immigrating to a foreign country and how storytelling changes and evolves over generations. “Okage Sama De” translates to “I am what I am because of you” and the piece explores how the generations before pave the way for you. It explores Japanese culture through music performed by Noriko Tadano and Toshi Sakamoto and art by Junko Azukawa.
